Die Duine Farmhouse is the base of Tok Tokkie Trails. They host 2 night /3 day walking safari through the mountainous terrain and sandy dunes in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. The hiking trail is for walkers who would like to experience close contact with nature. The guides have an in-depth knowledge of the area and will enthusiastically share how the fascinating desert flora survives, how insect and reptile life adapts to the harsh environment and how mammals can survive without water.
The Challenge
Die Duine is surrounded by desert and there are limited communication lines in the area. Die Duine is used as a starting point for the hikes into the desert. Guests top up their water bottles, have a light lunch before heading off to their first camp out for the night. The hikes are very popular with the overseas visitors, and the challenge was lack of resources at the Farmhouse to have access to their bookings that guests made online, and there was no Wi-Fi either.
The Solution
Twoobii Satellite was installed at Die Duine for guests and owners to have access to Wi-Fi.
