Introduction
The NWR Mile 108 fishing camp is located in the protected Dorob National Park (“dry land”) in the Erongo area along the central Namibian coast.
The main reason to visit Mile 108 is that it is one of the most popular fishing spots and offers some of the wildest beach fishing you will ever experience. There are even some opportunities for rare sightings of some birds and wildlife such as the shy Brown Hyena that can sometimes be spotted scavenging along the beach.
The Challenge
Being in such a remote coastal location, stable and reliable connectivity was of utmost importance at Mile 108. The resort required connectivity at the on-site shop and the small office. The office personnel also needed to make use of a VPN connection back to their server at the NWR Head Office in Windhoek in order to access their booking system and emails.
Without a reliable connectivity medium, the resort struggled with keeping bookings up to date and delivering a star graded service to guests visiting the resort.
The Solution
With International guests expecting High-End WiFi at Mile 108 to keep in touch with family and friends while on holiday, our Twoobii services was able to bridge the connectivity hurdle and guests are now able to utilize the WiFi services at the Shop, which is a short distance from the camp site and the office personnel can now reach their Head Office in Windhoek.
“We have chosen to partner with Q-KON Namibia who is one of the country’s leading VSAT providers. This service fits perfectly with our needs and we can always rely on stable, always-on connectivity for Mile 108!”
