Introduction
The Mighty Men Conference Waterberg 2020, was held for the second year running, at the Farm Witklip just outside of Vaalwater. It is a 3-day conference, where men from all backgrounds get together to bring praise, and worship God Almighty.
The Challenge
The farm Witklip, on which it is held, is located in a rural area with limited cell phone reception. The organisers were granted permission to host 500 people on the farm two weeks before the event, originally it was limited by the COVID19 regulations. While on-site attendance were limited the challenge was how to get reliable Internet for the real-time video uplink required to reach 3200 people on Sunday morning alone with many more online over the weekend as a whole.
The Solution
The mobile Twoobii satellite solution made it possible to successfully stream the conference at 540pixel video quality stream using 890kbps constantly and/or 720pixel (standard HD) video quality stream using 1.5Mbps constantly.
The video cameras were mixed locally and then fed to an Apple iMac for transmission to Vimeo’s cloud service. In Vimeo the stream was sent to the MMC website and MMC Facebook page.
