Introduction
Natural History Film Unit Botswana (NHFU), is a Botswana-based production company operating in the NG29 concession of the Okavango Delta, specializing in wildlife documentaries. Their work is dedicated to revealing the wonders of this exceptional ecosystem and raising awareness about conservation. Frequently collaborating with prominent networks such as Netflix, National Geographic, and the BBC, leveraging their platforms to reach a global audience. Through these partnerships, they aim to inspire a deeper appreciation for nature and contribute to global conservation efforts.
The Challenge
One of the biggest challenges NHFU faced was finding an Internet Provider capable of delivering a reliable service. The remoteness of their base of operation made it difficult to select a provider that could meet their needs. Being heavily reliant on a strong and stable internet connection for a variety of critical functions such as maintaining regular communication with their main office in Maun, virtual meetings with partners around the world, data sharing and the swift exchange of information. With this in mind, they needed to select the most reliable provider.
The Solution
GC Sat, one of our channel partners in Botswana installed the Twoobii Smart Satellite Service for NHFU. Twoobii significantly enhanced the communication capabilities by successfully connecting NHFU. Through GC SAT, the Twoobii VSAT provided a level of ease and reliability in the on-site communications that met NHFU’s expectations. With the VSAT system in place, NHFU was able to enjoy uninterrupted, quality connectivity, which was crucial for their operations. The Twoobii VSAT provided not only clarity of their communications but also overall dependability, allowing NHFU to coordinate and collaborate more effectively.
“Implementing this technology truly transformed the way we managed our communications”
