Introduction:
Business Connexion (Pty) Ltd. (BCX) is a South African-based information and communications technology (ICT) company. The Challenge:
Impendle is a town in Umgungundlovu District Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Impendle town is 48 km west of Pietermaritzburg and 37 km north-east of Bulwer. Being in such a remote area Impendle did not have access to coverage for reliable communications internet.
A testing session was arranged with BCX and Q-KON to see if they can offer a reliable and workable solution.
The Solution:
BCX performed a variety of tests to ensure the Meraki SD-WAN over the Skylink satellite solution delivered according to expectations using their Host Based Telephony platform. The Meraki over Skylink did not disappoint and constant low jitter was experienced with stable latency and as a result achieved good MOS ratings. IP Phone to Cell-phone, Skype for Business, Teams and IP Phone to IP Phone extensions were all tested successfully to prove that voice applications over satellite is delivering high quality voice communications with the Meraki SD-WAN implementation.
