To the Moon: Viasat Selected to Design Lunar Orbiting Satellite
System Alongside Telespazio
Viasat is partnering with Telespazio and the European Space Agency (ESA) to provide secure satellite connectivity for future lunar missions. As part of the Moonlight program, Viasat will design and develop the communication network for lunar landers, rovers, and orbiters, as well as the Earth and lunar surface infrastructure. The Moonlight Communication system will act as a data highway on and around the Moon, and between Earth and the Moon, supporting scientific exploration and future commercial activities. With support from the UK Space Agency, Viasat will lead the UK’s role in the project. The service will be deployed in phases, targeting initial capabilities by 2028 and full operations by 2030.

Sphinxblick Open Air Rock Festival – Rocking Namibia!
The Sphinxblick Open Air (SOA) is a 3-day rock music festival held on a farm near Usakos, Namibia, celebrated as the most family-friendly rock concert in the Southern Hemisphere. The 2025 edition featured 23 bands from Namibia, South Africa, and Germany, including LA Cobra, Off Shore, and Weissdorn. Set in the scenic Erongo Region, the festival offered live music, food, camping, and a laid-back desert vibe. With around 550 attendees, the event was fully cashless, thanks to FNB Namibia and Q-KON’s Twoobii Smart Satellite Service, which provided reliable card payment connectivity in the remote location.

Team Spotlight: Enhancing Technical Installation Expertise
As part of our ongoing commitment to upskilling, more members of our Engineering team have successfully completed the Intellian OW70 Standard Installation Training. The training was expertly conducted by Gbane Abdoul Karim from Eutelsat. While the training primarily focused on the Intellian Dual Dome OW70, our Engineers are now also fully qualified to install the Intellian Single Dome OW50 unit. Well done to the entire team for their continued dedication to excellence and technical growth!
